🛡️ GEN. BRAWNER DEFENDS DND CHIEF GIBO TEODORO: “No Doubt on His Loyalty” 🇵🇭
CAMP AGUINALDO – AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. has publicly backed Defense Secretary Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro amid questions about his former Maltese citizenship, calling on soldiers to focus on their mission and not be distracted by “resolved issues.”
👉 “Let’s just do our job. The issue has been answered. Secretary Teodoro’s patriotism and allegiance to the Philippines are beyond question,” Gen. Brawner said.
Reports surfaced that Teodoro once held a Maltese passport obtained in 2016, but the DND confirmed he renounced it before filing his 2022 candidacy—disclosing the move to the COMELEC, Immigration Bureau, and Commission on Appointments.
Legal experts say the renunciation clears him to serve.
