Army Chief: A Healthy Soldier is the Building Block of Mission Accomplishment

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City — Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete underscored the vital role of the Army’s medical and healthcare workers in ensuring mission success during his visit to the Army General Hospital (AGH) on September 8, 2025.

Addressing AGH doctors, nurses, and staff, the Army Chief stressed that the strength of the Army lies not only in its firepower but also in the health and welfare of its soldiers.

“Sa bawat sugatan na inyong ginagamot, sa bawat pamilya ng sundalo na inyong tinutulungan, at sa bawat buhay na inyong inililigtas, you strengthen the very core of our mission to defend the Filipino people,” Lt. Gen. Nafarrete said.

He highlighted his Command Guidance, which prioritizes holistic human capital development as the cornerstone of a strong Army.

“As your Commanding General, my guidance remains the same: We must invest in our people. That means ensuring not only the readiness of our soldiers in the field but also the strength and capacity of our medical professionals and support staff. Your readiness, your welfare, and your morale are equally important, because without you, our Army cannot stand at full strength,” he added.

The Army General’s visit reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to sustaining morale, enhancing medical readiness, and recognizing healthcare workers as indispensable pillars of national defense.
