Dumaguete Inaugurates Candau-ay Balugo Bridge, Showcasing Debt-Free Development
DUMAGUETE CITY – The city government, under the leadership of Mayor Felipe Remollo, continues its commitment to sustainable and debt-free progress with the inauguration of the Candau-ay Balugo Bridge on Thursday, March 27, at 3:00 PM.
The new bridge stands as a testament to fiscal responsibility and environmental rehabilitation, funded entirely by city resources without incurring any loans. It is located at the site of the former Candau-ay dumpsite, which has been successfully rehabilitated—an achievement that reinforces Dumaguete’s dedication to clean, progressive urban development.
Expanding Development Across Barangays
Mayor Remollo’s administration has prioritized infrastructure expansion across barangays to enhance connectivity and quality of life for residents. With the Candau-ay Balugo Bridge now open, more communities will benefit from improved access and mobility.
Salamat, Taxpayers!
“This project is possible because of the responsible financial management of the city and the support of taxpayers. We are proving that progress can be achieved without burdening our people with debt,” a city official stated.
Residents are invited to visit the site and witness the transformation firsthand. The rehabilitated dumpsite, once a source of concern, now symbolizes Dumaguete’s commitment to environmental sustainability and urban growth.
The Remollo administration continues to lead the way in building infrastructure with integrity, ensuring that every taxpayer peso is put to good use.
