United in Faith: 6ID Hosts Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on the Sacred Values of Marriage
CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao — June 28, 2025
In a heartfelt display of unity and spiritual reflection, the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division, Philippine Army, hosted its Monthly Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on June 27, 2025, at the Division Headquarters in Camp Siongco. This month’s theme, “The Sacred Bond: Exploring the Universal Values of Marriage Across Faiths,” brought together soldiers and civilian personnel to reflect on the sanctity of marriage as a moral cornerstone shared across religious traditions.
Led by the Office of the Division Chaplain, the service featured spiritual messages from three major faiths. Captain Jake A. Bilbao provided a moving sermon from the Catholic perspective, Ustadz Abdulrakman Yunos shared teachings rooted in Islam, and Staff Sergeant Benjamin Mindajao offered a reflection from the Christian faith. Each speaker emphasized the moral strength, mutual respect, and deep spiritual connection that marriage fosters, not only within families but in the greater pursuit of peace in society.
A key highlight of the event was the Lighting of the Candle for Peace, a solemn act led by Colonel Manuel Leo Q. Gador, Chief of Staff of the 6ID. The symbolic gesture served as a prayer for harmony, understanding, and unity—both within the ranks of the military and in the communities they protect and serve.
The gathering was attended by officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resource staff, demonstrating the Division’s commitment to spiritual wellness, interfaith dialogue, and value-based leadership.
By promoting shared values and fostering a culture of mutual respect, the 6ID continues to build not just a disciplined force, but one rooted in peace, compassion, and service.
