The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) concluded the 2026 National Women’s Month celebration on March 30 with a recognition ceremony honoring outstanding female police officers and investigators at the Plenary Hall of the Convention Center in Dumaguete City.
Police Colonel Timmar J. Alam, Officer-in-Charge Provincial Director of NOrPPO, led the culmination program that brought together senior police officials and policewomen from across the province. The event aligned with this year’s national theme, “WE for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society.”

The ceremony drew participation from key provincial police leadership, including Police Lieutenant Colonel Ronoel G. Fungo, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Jul Mohammad L. Jamiri, Deputy Provincial Director for Operations. Police Major Elpidio R. Police Captain Annalyn D. Benigay and Police Major Darlene J. Catacutan, who serves as Provincial Legal Officer, were among the senior female officers present. The gathering included NOrPPO personnel and policewomen from the Provincial Headquarters, 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Companies, Tactical Patrol Unit, and police stations throughout Negros Oriental’s cities and municipalities.
Top Female Investigators Recognized for Excellence
The highlight of the program featured the awarding of the Top 3 Best Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) Investigators from both city and municipal police stations across the province. These investigators were recognized for their outstanding work in handling cases involving women and children, reflecting the police force’s commitment to gender-sensitive law enforcement.
The WCPD units play a crucial role in addressing domestic violence, child abuse, and other gender-based crimes throughout Negros Oriental. The recognition ceremony aimed to highlight the specialized skills and dedication required for these sensitive investigations.
Long-Service Female Officers Receive Loyalty Awards
The ceremony also honored female police personnel who have demonstrated sustained commitment to public service through loyalty awards. Officers who have rendered 10 to 20 years of continuous service received recognition for their dedication to law enforcement in the province.
These loyalty awardees represent the growing number of women who have built careers within the Philippine National Police, contributing to various aspects of law enforcement from community relations to criminal investigations.
