The senior naval officer reminded the cadets of their broader mission beyond personal accomplishment. “When you feel that you would like to quit already, when the road seems all uphill, always don’t forget to look at your right shoulder [which is the Philippine flag] because you will not only be representing yourself, you will not only be representing your Academy, the Alma Mater or the Cadet Corps Armed Forces of the Philippines, but you will be representing our nation,” Vice Admiral Valencia declared.

This powerful reminder highlighted the national significance of their participation and the honor of carrying the Philippine colors into international military competition.

Comprehensive Training Program Completed

The road to Sandhurst required Team Dagohoy to complete an exhaustive preparation program spanning several months. This specialized training curriculum was meticulously designed to address every aspect of the competition’s demanding requirements.

Physical conditioning formed a cornerstone of their preparation, with cadets pushing their endurance limits and honing combat-related skills essential for competition success. However, the Academy’s approach extended far beyond physical readiness to encompass mental fortitude and tactical proficiency.

Training emphasized developing core military virtues including resilience, unwavering discipline, and steadfast determination. These qualities, according to Academy officials, represent the foundation necessary for navigating the competition’s intense challenges while maintaining the honor and dignity befitting representatives of the Philippine flag.
