This page explains what personal data Breaking News Negros Oriental holds, and how you can ask us to
delete it. It applies to our website, our Facebook Page, and the software we use to publish our reporting.
What we hold
- Website analytics. Aggregated visit measurement (pages viewed, approximate location,
device type) collected through Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel. This is used to understand which
reporting is read, not to build profiles of individuals. - Interactions on our Facebook Page. Comments, reactions and messages you send us are
stored by Facebook and visible to our editorial team. They remain subject to Facebook’s own data policy in
addition to this page. - Anything you send us directly. If you email us a news tip, a correction request, or a
message through our contact form, we keep that correspondence so we can follow it up.
What our publishing software does not collect
We operate an internal newsroom application (“Breaking News Negros Oriental”, Meta app ID
929940872746134) that publishes our articles, photos and videos to our own Facebook Pages and reads
performance statistics for those posts. It is a server-side publishing tool. It has no public sign-in, and it
does not collect, request or store personal data belonging to Facebook users. The Facebook data it reads is
limited to our own Pages, our own posts, and the aggregate performance figures for them.
How to request deletion
Email info@kuryentenews.com with the subject line
“Data Deletion Request”, and tell us:
- which data you want deleted (for example: your comments on our Page, your email correspondence, or your
analytics record); - enough detail for us to find it — for example the Facebook name you commented under, or the email address
you wrote from.
We will confirm receipt and complete the deletion within 30 days. We will tell you if any part of the
request cannot be met, and why.
Limits we have to be honest about
- Some data sits on platforms we do not control. Content you posted on Facebook is held by Meta; to remove
data Meta holds about you, use Facebook’s own settings and its
account and
data deletion tools. We can delete what appears on our Page; we cannot delete Meta’s own records. - Published journalism is different from personal data. A request to delete personal data
is not the same as a request to unpublish a news report. Corrections, clarifications and takedown requests
about published articles are handled through our editorial process — see our
contact page — and are assessed on accuracy and
public interest, not automatically granted. - Aggregated analytics that cannot be linked back to an individual may remain in totals, because there is no
identifiable record left to remove.
