A Silliman University nursing graduate placed ninth in the country in the August 2026 Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE), as the Dumaguete City-based university recorded a 100 percent passing rate and ranked first among top-performing schools in its category, according to results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
Omictin Scores 90.60 Percent in Nationwide Exam
Lyzelle Marie Largo Omictin posted a rating of 90.60 percent, placing her ninth on the national roll of topnotchers released by the PRC. She shares the ninth spot with other examinees who recorded the same rating, according to the official PRC topnotchers list.
Silliman University publicly congratulated Omictin, its 79 new registered nurses, and the faculty and staff of the SU College of Nursing following the release of results.
SU Tops Its Category With Perfect Passing Rate
All 79 of Silliman University’s first-time examinees passed the NLE, giving the institution a 100 percent passing rate. The university said it ranked first among schools with 50 to 99 examinees that achieved a passing rate of at least 85 percent — the highest classification in that bracket.
The milestone places SU among the country’s best-performing nursing schools for the August 2026 examination cycle.
PRC Releases Results Five Working Days After Exam
The PRC Board of Nursing released the official results on September 18, 2026 — five working days after the examinations concluded. The NLE was held on August 29 and 30, 2026, at testing centers across the Philippines, including a testing center in Dumaguete, according to the PRC.
Nationally, 28,652 of 37,359 examinees passed, yielding a national passing rate of 76.69 percent. The PRC noted that results for 21 examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under licensure examination rules.
Passers Must Complete Registration and Take Professional Oath
Examinees who passed the NLE are required to register online with the PRC for their professional identification card and certificate of registration. Under Republic Act No. 9173, known as the Philippine Nursing Act of 2002, all passers must take a professional oath before they are legally permitted to practice nursing in the Philippines.
