Thirteen examinees who sat for the Philippine Military Academy Entrance Examination (PMAEE) 2026 at the Dumaguete City testing center made the Academy’s official list of passers, released this week by the PMA at Fort General Gregorio H. del Pilar in Baguio City.

The 13 are part of a nationwide pool of just 1,216 passers out of 25,452 qualified examinees — a pass rate of 4.78%, among the tightest in recent years. The Dumaguete passers now move on to the Academy’s second screening phase, running from October 2026 to April 2027, before any of them can be admitted into the incoming PMA Class of 2031.

A nationwide field, a steep climb

The 1,216 passers were drawn from 25,452 qualified examinees who tested at 48 centers across the country between July and September 2026, out of 36,596 who originally applied online. None of this year’s Top 10 scorers tested in Dumaguete — the Academy’s highest-ranking examinees this cycle came from Baguio City, Quezon City, Davao City, General Santos City, Cagayan de Oro, and Cotabato City, with Philippine Science High School campuses accounting for 8 of the 15 named Top 10 slots.

Screening runs through April before cadets are named

Passing the entrance exam is only the first of several hurdles. All 1,216 passers — the 13 from Dumaguete included — must still clear a Complete Physical Examination, Medical Assessment, and Neuropsychiatric Evaluation between October 2026 and April 2027. Only those who pass every stage will be admitted into the incoming PMA Class of 2031, tentatively set to convene in May 2027.
